Assassin’s Creed Origins Gets Official God Mode on PC

Assassin’s Creed Origins may have flitted with the gods – especially in its amazing Curse of the Pharaohs DLC – but what would it be like to be an actual god roaming around Ancient Egypt? We may never find out, but Ubisoft is giving us the next best thing: an official God mode.

Labelled the ‘Animus Control Panel’, the free addon gives you the chance to alter most aspects of the game at the click of a button. Want to be able to tame dozens of animals and have the underwater capabilities of a fish? Sure, go nuts. Fed up of Bayek and want to play as someone else? The option is there for you. Feel like turning Assassin’s Creed Origins into a Dark Souls-esque one-shot kill fest? Then open up the Animus Control Panel.

The addon, which is out today for PC players only, has 11 categories and over 70 features and parameters to tweak including, but not limited to, movement speed, detection scope and hit power, should you wish to make the game harder or easier.

While it’s not a complete God Mode (i.e. you won’t be able to remove and move objects from within the game world) it’s refreshing to see Ubisoft give players the key to kingdom as it were, and really have a play around with the game. You will also be able to save your settings and share it online. Yes, someone out there might be really into your random street urchin with the powers of The Flash mode.

Credit, too, has to go to Ubisoft team for creating such an intuitive piece of in-game software. Now, after you’ve watched the launch trailer below, it’ll be time to play god…
