Sony’s New 4K Resolution Standard Demonstrated Using Gran Turismo 5

Ever wonder what Gran Turismo 5 would look like on steroids? Well bam, here it is.

Using four PlayStation 3 consoles, Polyphony Digital will be showing off a tech demo of Gran Turismo 5 running at "4k resolution" throughout the month of October. The demo is an effort to show off Sony's new resolution standard for Bravia TVs, a standard that some speculate will be supported with the next PlayStation. Whether or not that's the case remains to be excited, but any opportunity to see Gran Turismo 5 on a massive screen powered by several consoles is hard to say no to.

Unfortunately, the demonstrations are only in Japan, but we'll try to get our hands on some footage to save you a trip across the ocean.
