Destiny 2 Sandbox Update

Destiny 2 Sandbox Update Detailed: Will Make Players “Go Fast”

Bungie promised that it would make an effort to be more transparent about the Destiny 2 development process, and it seems the team is trying hard to keep players in the know. In the latest “This Week at Bungie” blog post, Design Lead Josh Hamrick gave players a rundown of the what’s coming in the next Destiny 2 sandbox update.

Internally, the patch is being called the “Go Fast Update.” This is because the ultimate goal is to “provide individual players with more hero moments by increasing overall speed and mobility, increasing the amount of supers you charge to demolish your enemies, and increasing the frequency and impact of our most montage worthy power weapons, especially in the Crucible.”

Here are the main features that Hamrick and his team are currently working on:

  • All three glides plus Catapult and Strafe Lift have been retuned and buffed to make them more unique and faster.
  • The mobility stat has had its range expanded and been completely retuned as well.  In short, everyone gets faster and the high end is higher.
  • The players’ ground speed cap has been increased, allowing for faster total movement speed, regardless of how you may get there.
  • Arcstrider, Sentinel, and Striker all move faster, and at the same speed as one another, while in their Supers.

Head to the latest “This Week at Bungie” blog post to see the whole list of things that Bungie is working on.

Combine all of these changes and improvements, and you get a much faster Destiny 2 experience. If you’re a player who thought that the game was a little too slow, then the incoming Destiny 2 sandbox update should give you the satisfaction you crave!
