Overwatch Winter Event 2017 Kicks Off New Seasonal Skins and Content

The Overwatch winter event 2017 is back with a ton of new skins and content for players to enjoy. That’s right, Blizzard is kicking off the second annual Winter Wonderland event in Overwatch. The event was previously teased with the reveal that three characters (Hanzo, Junkrat, and Roadhog) would be getting brand new Legendary skins.

In addition to those three, Ana, Bastion, Soldier 76, and Sombra have new skins available for the Overwatch winter event 2017. For those that missed out on last year’s Winter Wonderland, Blizzard is also giving you the chance to pick up the previous seasonal skins like Jingle Tracer at a reduced price.

2016’s winter skins cost 1000 credits for Legendary, 250 for Epic, 75 for Rare, and 25 for Common. Of course, the new skins released for the Overwatch winter event 2017 cost more at 3000, 750, 225, and 75 credits for Legendary, Epic, Rare, and Common skins respectively.

Besides skins, the Overwatch winter event 2017 is bringing a winter-themed version of the Black Forest map and a five-on-one match type called Mei’s Yeti Hunt. In Yeti Hunt, five players play as Mei and go up against one Winston in a yeti skin, similar to the game Evolve.

Mei’s Snowball Offensive is also back and playable on Black Forest, where two teams of six Mei players each go up against each other in single elimination rounds. Anyone that logins in from the start of the event until it ends will get a free loot box containing seasonal items.
