Every purchase of the HTC Vive will now include a free redemption code for Fallout 4 VR, HTC has confirmed.
Starting today the virtual reality headset will come with a copy of the Bethesda RPG, adding an extra incentive for those who haven’t yet taken the plunge with VR. Fallout 4 VR is set to launch on December 12th, so those who buy the HTC Vive will have to wait a while to be able to play it, but those who already own the Vive and buy Fallout 4 VR separately will be given a three-month free subscription to the gaming service Viveport, which typically costs $6.99 per month.

Fallout 4 VR is set to be one of the biggest virtual reality releases yet, and while the jury’s still out on whether or not it will be worth consumers dropping $599 on a HTC Vive, it’s almost certain to become one of the most successful VR games thus far, and this is a major boon for HTC as a result. Speaking of the new bundle, GM of Vive Studios Joel Breton said: “Fallout 4 VR is the most anticipated title for VR this holiday, and the game development team at Bethesda Game Studios is delivering on the promise with a full-length AAA open-world game that takes advantage of Vive’s incredible room-scale immersion for a mind-blowing experience in the Wasteland.”
He continued: “The promise of a game with near endless content, including hundreds of locations, characters, and quests, fully playable in VR, is something that we have been focused on providing for the VR gaming community. We are now thrilled to provide this incredible game to new Vive owners and eagerly look forward to game’s launch on Vive this December.”
