Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer RDR 2

Stunning Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Featured In-Engine Footage Captured on PS4

The stunning footage featured in the new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer was captured in-engine on the PS4, Sony has revealed.

The new trailer, released by Rockstar earlier today, boasted gorgeous visuals that saw many questioning whether or not it had been captured on consoles, or if it was pre-rendered. However, a tweet from the official PlayStation account confirms that this wasn’t the case, revealing that everything viewers saw in the trailer had been captured on the PS4.

The game, which will launch in spring 2018 (no concrete release date has yet been given), is set for release on both the PS4 and Xbox One, with Rockstar having yet to confirm any plans to bring it to the PC. However, it seems that its visuals are already going to push both consoles to their limits, with this second trailer suggesting that it will be one of the best-looking games to date.

Sony played up the game’s visuals in a blog post, writing: “Hand crafted to take full advantage of PS4, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland.” Rockstar will also grant PS4 players early access to online multiplayer content, with these features set to launch on Sony’s console before they make their way to the Xbox One.
