Grand Theft Auto V Nintendo Switch Port Teased by Leaker

Grand Theft Auto V could make its way to the Nintendo Switch, if a Rockstar leaker is to be believed.

Vern, a NeoGAF user who previously teased the release of LA Noire on the Switch, has suggested that GTA V could be the next Rockstar game to receive the re-release treatment on the handheld / home console hybrid. In a thread discussing the LA Noire Switch remaster, Vern responded to a commenter who complained about not receiving a GTA V Switch port, replying simply: “Patience.”

Of course, this is in no way confirmation that Rockstar is working on a GTA V Switch port, though Vern appears to have an inside link to the notoriously secretive company which suggests that this tease could be true. If that is to be the case then this will be huge news for Nintendo, who have been overlooked by Rockstar for years, and will open up the platform to many gamers who have thus far only been able to play GTA games on their PS4s and Xbox Ones.

This could also potentially leave the door open for Red Dead Redemption 2 to receive a Switch release, with the game only confirmed for the PS4 and Xbox One at the time of this writing. Though RDR2 would inevitably require Rockstar to put in a lot of work in order to get it functional on the Switch, if they are working to put GTA V on the console then it’s certainly a possibility.

If Rockstar is working on a GTA V Switch port, then chances are we won’t hear about it for quite some time. In the meantime, you can check out the LA Noire port when it releases on the Nintendo console, and read why we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
