Katamari Damacy Makes A MoMA Exhibit

Who says video games aren't art? The New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) definitely doesn't think so. They are about to roll out a new exhibit called Century of the Child: Growing by Design, and it includes cameos of Katamari Damacy. The little prince is part of the exhibit that focuses on the way that games and toys have changed over the past century. Video games are definitely part of that category.

The exhibit extolls Katamari Damacy's "quirky" style and simplistic idea of gameplay (rolling things into balls) has appealed to young children and adults alike. If you've never played one of the several Katamari Damacy games, please go give one a try. It's so unusual and oddly addictive that it deserves its own genre.

If you happen to be in New York and would like to see the exhibit, it runs from July 29th through November 5th.
