Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed until Spring 2018

We all knew it was possible. In fact, our own Jonathan Leack predicted it outright. After Red Dead Redemption 2 was announced last winter for a late 2017 release date, we all knew a possibility of a delay loomed over it Rockstar's latest title. With the mega-studio's reputation of delayed games in the Grand Theft Auto Series and Red Dead Redemption itself, no one will be surprised to learn that Red Dead Redemption 2 has also been delayed.

But that doesn't mean we can't be sad about it. Rockstar Games announced today in a long blog post that Red Dead Redemption 2 is now slated for a Spring 2018 launch window.

"We are firm believers of delivering a game only when it's ready," the blog post reads. "Some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans."

As sort of a consolation prize or a silver lining, Rockstar also released an impressive set of new screenshots that are nothing short of beautiful, but it's unclear if it will sake our sadness. Decide for yourself below:
