Wii U Control Pad Updated, Will Control Your TV Too

In addition to showing off the updated rear and control sticks on the Wii U (see above), Nintendo revealed today that the Wii U Control Pad would also support the controls for your TV as an infrared remote control.

In today's Nintendo Direct, Bossman Satoru Iwata revealed the new functionality ahead of Nintendo's E3 press conference on Tuesday. The controller will also support stylus and touch controls and comes complete with an accelerometer and gryosensor.

We'll have more as the presentation continues. Don't forget to check out all of our E3 coverage at our tag page.
