Doom 3 BFG Edition Announced

I woke up this morning wondering which franchise would get a HD makeover next. I thought to myself, a remake of Doom 3 would kick some demonic ass. Lo and behold, that's what we're getting!

Id software announced this morning that they will release a remastered and expanded version of Doom 3—aptly dubbed the BFG Edition—for PC and consoles sometime this Fall. They will remaster the graphics, add support for 3D, toss in some 5.1 surround sound, and throw in The Lost Mission—a completely new single-player story in Doom 3 with seven levels.

But wait! There's more! The BFG will also include the original versions of Doom and Doom 2! Get all of your Doom excitement in one place!

And yay there's something else releasing this fall! I thought the calendar looked empty. Now I need to dig out my id cheat codes for Doom 2 (as those will totally still work, right?), practice playing games with the lights at the brightest setting, and hone my grenade launcher skills. There's no way I'm going back into hell without a grenade launcher.
