Pikmin 2 Porting To Wii June 10

Pikmin 2 hit North American shores in 2004 during the GameCube era, and even though the GC era is over, you can still play Pikmin 2 on your Wii just as easily. Apparently that's not good enough for Pikmin fans, as it was officially ported in Japan in 2009. The Wii game never made it over here, and it seems that Pikmin fans in America have been outraged at the slight. I guess their GameCube discs no longer work or their Wavebirds finally bit the dust.

But hey, your torment is over! Nintendo announced via Nintendo Power that Pikmin 2 for the Wii will land in North America on June 10th for $19.99. The Wii version implements the New Play Control! scheme from the 2009 port.

This is a brilliant move for Nintendo to get that momentum flowing for Pikmin 3, which will most likely be announced at E3 2012. What better way to build awareness for Pikmin 3 than to re-release Pikmin 2
