Dark Souls Additional Content Might End Up Exclusive To PC

There was an overwhelming presence of joy in the gaming community when Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition was officially confirmed last week. Not only was its addition to the PC library something to be excited about, but tie-in of additional content had DLC written all over it. Key word: had.

360 Magazine had a chance to speak to Dark Souls Director Hidetaka Miazaki about the upcoming special PC edition of Dark Souls, and not only did he apologize, but he brought some bad news along with it. He stated:

I cannot say right now about whether or not this content will ever be available as DLC. But, I want to emphasize my sincere apologize to those players that bought the console version that we don’t have any news for them at this point.

So in other words, it won't be announced until so many people complain that you cave in? So what are we missing out on anyway?

The additional content will include approximately three-to-four new bosses and three-to-four new areas.

Okay, now that's messed up. The console community is what supported From Software with their last two efforts (which were great, mind you), so it makes very little sense to treat the PC community like kings. With that said, From Software might be trying to provide incentive for PC gamers to pick the game up because after all, they are getting a one-year old port that's locked at 30 frames-per-second.

I'm not going to beat around the bush here, I don't think From Software will be able to keep additional bosses and areas away from their passionate fans for long. The only question left is how long can they endure the wrath of the gaming community?
