Game Gear Titles Available On Nintendo eShop Today

Know what gaming device of the 90s hasn't been sucked into a virtual console? It's the SEGA Game Gear, that big, bulky handheld that sported glorious color over the GameBoy's black and…and whatever color that was. Of course, it also sucked 6 AA batteries dry in two hours, but it was revolutionary, dammit! I had one, and I actually still have it.

But that's all beside the point. The real point is that Nintendo's eShop on the 3DS has stepped up to take on this forgotten console's games in its virtual console. First up for release (today!) are Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble, Shinobi, and Dragon Crystal. Each game costs $4.99, $3.99, and $2.99, respectively.

If Nintendo is able to keep adding more Game Gear games to the eShop, maybe I'll find another reason to play with my 3DS. My poor Game Gear no worky.
