Rayman Origins Is Making Money For Ubisoft

Last years critical darling, Rayman Origins is getting ported to every platform under the sun. It's already on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. It's on the new PlayStation Vita. It's going to be on the 3DS and PC soon too! When do I get it on my iPhone?

Regardless of how many platforms the game is available on, Ubisoft has clarified that the game is making money for the company. During an investor conference call, CFO for Ubisoft Alain Martinez stated:

Two successes more than compensated for the performance of Rayman Origins, TinTin, and the non-dance Kinect games. We believe Rayman Origins, which is rated 89 percent on Metacritic with enthusiast reviews and is already profitable, has the capacity to become a long-term seller for the company.

Surely the fact that the game is already dotting "Best Games You Haven't Played" lists will help drive sales in the future. Let's hope it doesn't mean that the gorgeous 2D art and classic gameplay won't see a sequel or even a new title altogether.
