Two New Mass Effect Apps Coming To iOS

Before you roll your eyes and twitch fervishly with memories of Mass Effect: Galaxy, let's hear EA and BioWare out just a little.

The first iOS app is Mass Effect: Infiltrator, which, according to EA, is a "fully featured iOS third-person shooter" with "stunning graphics and authentic weapons and powers from the Mass Effect series." The game's story is about freeing prisoners held captive in a Cerberus base. Completing the game rewards you with vague "rewards" in regards to the "Galaxy at War" system in Mass Effect  3. That is enough for me to buy the game, as sad as that may sound. Promise of Mass Effect 3 goodies was the only reason why I bothered playing the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo.

Secondly, BioWare is releasing a Datapad app, which makes me the most excited. The app provides a constant stream of information in Mass Effect 3, including messages from the game's characters and updates on the war.

Oh yeah, this Mass Effect fangirl is beyond excited. Just please, don't let Infiltrator be a better looking Galaxy.
