For several years Shinji Hirano was the person in charge of Konami. Serving as president, he oversaw the business during its most trying times, including the period where it had a controversial fallout with Hideo Kojima during Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's development. Although this would make you think that he wants nothing to do with Kojima's work, that couldn't be farther from the truth.
As listed on LinkedIn, Shinji Hirano is now president at Kojima Productions. The hiring was done more than a month ago and without any public announcement. He described the position as the following:
