A round of much deserved applause followed the announcement of the upcoming international release of God Eater: Resurrection and God Eater 2: Rage Burst at Bandai Namco’s recent open house event.
Already released in Japan on October 29, God Eater: Resurrection is an updated version of the original God Eater Burst on PSP. Resurrection brings new devour options known as "Predator Style" and includes weapons from other God Eater titles into the game.
Likewise, God Eater 2: Rage Burst is an expansion of God Eater 2 and was already released in Japan in February 2015. This updated version has additional story content, variant scythes, a new personal ability system, and Survival Missions originally released as DLC.
Although both games may not have the current-gen style of games like Dark Souls III, the action gameplay is still fantastic, through hands-on play at the event, and the nostalgic feel of the visuals make it charming and very enjoyable to play. It’s also nice to have more additions to the PS4’s catalogue of titles that include online multiplayer, as both games feature 2-to-4 player co-op.
God Eater Resurrection will be available digitally on PSN and Steam for $19.99 on June 28th and God Eater 2: Rage Burst will be available August 30th digitally and in-stores.
You will also be able to purchase the Day One Edition of God Eater 2: Rage Burst, which will include a digital download of God Eater: Resurrection when it releases in June. The Day One Edition of Rage Burst will also include exclusive character outfits inspired by Tales of Zestiria, Tokyo Ghoul, and Sword Art Online.
Can’t wait? Here’s a 12-minute prologue animated short for God Eater: Resurrection. Enjoy.
