Shin Megami Tensei IV Final Revealed

Persona 5 dominates the Atlus RPG-related headlines, but let's not forget about the developer's fantastic Shin Megami Tensei series. The fourth main entry came out on 3DS in 2013, and now it's getting a follow-up in the near future.

Famitsu revealed that Shin Megami Tensei IV Final will come out in Japan in February of next year. The details, translated by Persona Central, mention that it'll be another 3DS release for the series. Despite the similar name, Shin Megami Tensei IV Final is an entirely new game set in the same universe as Shin Megami Tensei IV.

Few other details are known at the moment, aside from the fact that "decide" will be a key word in the game. Shin Megami Tensei IV Final will receive a 10-page feature in this week's issue of Famitsu, and there will also be an announcement livestream on October 11.

The Famitsu article also mentions staff for the upcoming game. Shin Megami Tensei IV's director Issen Yamai will serve as a producer, while chief programmer Satoshi Ooyama will assume the role of director for the new project.

Although the February release date is for Japan, it's not a stretch to assume that Atlus will localize Shin Megami Tensei IV Final for North America. Perhaps we'll be looking at a Summer 2016 release for the game. In the meantime, fans can keep an eye on the new teaser site for additional information in the coming days.
