Warner Bros. Knew About Batman: Arkham Knight’s PC Problems for Months

Batman: Arkham Knight had a disastrous launch on PC, to the point that Warner Bros. had to remove the game from physical and digital stores. While Rocksteady continues to work on fixes for the PC port, new details have emerged regarding the problems with that version of the game.

According to a Kotaku report, Warner Bros. knew about the issues with the PC port of Arkham Knight months in advance. A quality assurance tester who worked on the game expressed that fact.

“I will say that it’s pretty rich for WB to act like they had no idea the game was in such a horrible state,” they said. “It’s been like this for months and all the problems we see now were the exact same, unchanged, almost a year ago.”

Sources go on to say that Warner Bros. consciously decided to ship the game anyway despite its problems. The company felt that the PC port was good enough, but clearly that's not the case.

Developer Rocksteady focused on the console versions of the game, but even those had some roadblocks along the way according to the QA tester source.

“Getting it to work on consoles was impossible for months,” they said. “That’s part of why the game got delayed so many times, they were totally unprepared for how hard it was on next-gen consoles.”

Fortunately the console versions of Arkham Knight turned out well, but the PC port continues to exist in limbo. It'll probably be a while until Rocksteady and Warner Bros. are ready to release the PC port again, so fans will have to wait patiently or stick to the PS4/Xbox One versions for now.
