It's been a long time coming, but Super Meat Boy is finally heading to Sony platforms. The game comes out on PlayStation 4 and Vita later this Fall.
The announcement comes courtesy of Tommy Refenes of Team Meat. In his PlayStation Blog post, Refenes details how he and co-designer Edmund McMillen weren't "allowed to bring it to PS3 for very complicated reasons." Fortunately Team Meat and Sony have gotten through all the red tape to make the re-release a reality.
In addition, the game will be free at launch for PlayStation Plus users. According to Team Meat, "that’s our way of saying 'thank you for waiting patiently' to all those PlayStation fans that reached out to us over the years only to get back a 'we can’t do it, sorry' response."
Anyone who knows me well knows I love Super Meat Boy. It's a tough-as-nails platformer with top-notch controls and a fantastic soundtrack. I've played through it a few times, and I'll probably do it again on PS4/Vita. I'm guessing I won't be the only one.
