Splatoon comes out later this week, and our very own Ryan Bates says it's a lot of fun in his review. Unfortunately European users who placed Splatoon orders with the UK retailer GAME were hit with some unfortunate news earlier today.
According to this tweet from Amiibo Alerts, emails were sent out detailing the theft of a lorry transporting copies of Splatoon from Nintendo's European warehouse to GAME's UK Warehouse. That includes special edition versions of the game.
The special edition of Splatoon comes with a copy of the game and a unique squid amiibo. The only way to order the special edition with the squid amiibo in Europe is through GAME, which means players in Europe will not be able to purchase it elsewhere.
As the email from GAME states, "we have no option but to substitute the Splatoon + Squid Inkling in your order with the standard version of the game."
Customers will receive a discount for the standard edition, but it's still an awful bit of news for European Wii U owners who were looking forward to the special edition of the game.
