Total War: Warhammer Announced

The Total War series has been to Rome, feudal Japan, Europe, and various other historical settings, but now it tackles the world of high fantasy with Total War: Warhammer.

The upcoming PC game is the first in a trilogy of releases with the Warhammer name, and developer Creative Assembly plans to support each game with additional content. Sega also returns for the new series entry as publisher.

Creative Assembly and Sega promise "gigantic monsters, flying creatures, legendary heroes and storms of magical power" in Total War: Warhammer. There will be multiple races to choose from, and all come with their own conflicts and challenges.

Ian Roxburgh, the project lead on Total War: Warhammer, expressed his excitement for the game.

“We’ve always loved the Warhammer universe, and couldn’t wait to approach it with the same colossal scale and authenticity that has characterised our titles for the last 15 years,” he said. “We’re bringing it to life in a way that nobody’s attempted before.”

A release date has yet to be revealed for Total War: Warhammer, but fans can take a look at the cinematic trailer above to get an idea of the mash-up.
