MKX Modder Makes Additional Characters Playable

The story mode in Mortal Kombat X includes battles with some characters that aren't currently playable, but that won't stop the mod community from expanding the roster.

Modder XVermillion changed a few files in the PC version of Mortal Kombat X, which now allows players to use Rain, Baraka, and Sindel. All three of these characters only appear in the story mode and aren't playable.

The steps behind the mod are detailed on XVermillion's Reddit post. Apparently he/she modded files in the assets folder and replaced them with existing characters. For example, Rain's files were renamed to match Shinnok's first costume slot.

It's possible that Rain, Baraka, and Sindel will become playable characters as part of future DLC. In the meantime, PC owners can follow XVermillion's steps in order to replicate the mod.
