Limited Edition Gold Mario Amiibo Is Apparently a Walmart Exclusive [Update: Nintendo Confirms]

[Update] Nintendo has confirmed that Walmart shoppers will be able to purchase a shiny gold Mario, dubbed the "Super Mario amiibo – Gold Edition," when Mario Party 10 launches on March 20. It will be available exclusively at 3,000 Walmart locations across the United States for $12.96.

 

[Original] Just a few weeks ago, we got word that gold and silver Mario amiibo figures were in the works. Now, we have reason to believe the gold version of Nintendo's iconic character will be exclusively available at Walmart. 

According to a leaked poster, it appears that you'll only be able to get this shiny new amiibo by purchasing Mario Party 10 at the retail giant.

 

Nintendo has yet to confirm the news, but the evidence looks fairly compelling. We'll update you as soon as we know more.
