NPD: PlayStation 4 Was January’s Top-Selling Console

The NPD sales results for January are in, and it looks like Sony has reclaimed the top spot as far as hardware sales go. That's right, PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console in the United States last month.

"PlayStation 4 was the top selling console in January and remains the cumulative leader in the U.S. according to NPD data," Sony shared in a recently-released statement.

After the holiday season, Microsoft bumped the price of Xbox One back up to $399, but it didn't take long for the company to discount the box back down to $349 when sales started slowing down again. It will be interesting to see how the month of February pans out between the two with the $50 price gap once again.
