MSFS 2024 Missing Aircraft: Why Aren’t All My Airplanes Available?

Some MSFS 2024 players are noticing they’re missing aircraft when they can finally load the game. Given that the most expensive edition is $200, the affected players are understandably upset. Fortunately, Microsoft has addressed the issue, and a fix is incoming.

Why are my aircraft missing in MSFS 2024?

If you notice that airplanes are missing from your My Library and Aircraft Select screens in MSFS 2024, the issue is likely temporary. Microsoft is aware of the problem and issued the following statement about it on X:

“We are aware of reports of aircraft missing from the My Library and Aircraft Select screens in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This issue is related to the server issues we are currently working to resolve.

Please stay tuned for further updates.”

The missing aircraft bug is caused by the same issue that’s causing players to be stuck in queues. The servers are getting hammered, which is causing errors to occur. Evidently, one of these problems is that the game isn’t properly accessing the player’s list of owned aircraft.

Typically, we’d recommend restarting the game to see if it alleviates the issue. However, the long queues and loading bugs mean you’re better off staying in-game if you want to play it at all. Otherwise, you might find yourself facing a more significant issue than not having access to all your planes.

Unfortunately, this sort of problem is par for the course on launch day for games. MSFS 2020 saw similar issues, and it took a few days for them to subside. So, the only fix for this particular bug is to be patient and wait for Microsoft to fix it on its end. However, if your planes are still missing a week or so from now, you’ll likely want to contact support and have them check into it.
