MSFS 2024 Login Queue: Why Does It Take So Long to Login?

Those trying to play MSFS 2024 are facing a login queue when trying to start the game. Unfortunately, even if you make it through some of the other issues with the game, it’s likely you’ll still end up waiting in line to play. We’ve got details on why this problem is occurring and what Microsoft has to say about it below.

Why am I stuck in a login queue in MSFS 2024

Unfortunately, the MSFS 2024 login queue is a symptom of the game’s success. Too many players are trying to connect to the servers at once, and they can’t handle the traffic. As a result, the excess players are placed in a queue to connect to a server when one can handle the request.

It’s important that if you’re stuck in the login queue, you either stay in line and wait your turn or close the game completely. Trying to connect repeatedly to skip the queue will only result in a longer wait and a poorer experience for yourself and everyone trying to play. If the queue is working properly, you’ll eventually get a chance to play. However, it may take an extended amount of time before you’re connected.

Microsoft has acknowledged the issue with the following statement on X:

“We are aware of user reports of long initial loading times into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

With so many users initializing the sim concurrently, we have a large number of server requests. We are working to help resolve the issues as soon as possible.

For users whose initial load is past 90% and no longer progressing, we recommend a reboot. Otherwise we advise waiting to allow the loading to proceed as normal.”

So, the only way to fix the login queue issue in MSFS 2024 is to wait patiently for your turn or log off and try again later.
