In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, you’ll want to learn how to use your knife as it has some unique benefits over using your firearms. To use the knife in Black Ops 6, press and hold melee. Doing this will equip your knife and allow you to use it like a standard weapon. Pressing the fire button will slash with your blade, and you can use the switch weapons button to equip your guns again.
The default melee button for each platform is:
- PC: V
- PS5: R3
- Xbox: RS
In previous Call of Duty games, the knife was used as the regular melee or took up the secondary weapon slot. Now, melee weapons have their own slot, though only the knife and baseball bat are available in Black Ops 6 at launch.

- Slot 2: Forward Intel
