Will There be a FF7 Rebirth Intermission DLC?

Fans are wondering if there’ll be any Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth DLC. Given the precedent set by its predecessor, we’d be surprised if there wasn’t an FF7 Rebirth Intermission DLC, but what would it be about? Fans are buzzing with speculation about who it would follow, and we’ll offer our theories below.

Will there be any Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth DLC?

No official announcements have been made about FF7 Rebirth DLC. However, the game’s narrative leaves some definite gaps to be filled. In particular, both Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine join the party without much exploration of their backstory. This has led to widespread speculation that these characters could be the focus of a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Intermission DLC.

The party met Cid Highwind in Rocket Town in the original game. However, Rebirth’s early introduction of Cid and leap from Nibelheim to the second Gold Saucer visit has left players curious whether Cid’s backstory has been changed. A DLC starring Cid would make sense as the party has no reason to go to Rocket Town until later in the narrative when Shinra recommissions the failed rocket to attack Meteor.

Vincent Valentine is another character whose mysterious past and ties to Shinra and the Turks could serve as the basis for compelling DLC content. His story is intertwined with some of the game’s darker themes, including experimentation and betrayal, which could provide a deeper look into the FF7 lore and offer a gameplay experience focused on his unique Chaos abilities.

Though nothing is confirmed, the potential for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth DLC is exciting. We wouldn’t be surprised to see one drop when the game finally comes to PC. Whether it’s soaring through the skies with Cid or uncovering the secrets of Vincent’s past, we’re down for more story content while we wait for the third entry in the trilogy.
