Storing items in your backpack during adventures in Enshrouded may become difficult with decreasing inventory space while collecting loot. As players venture on longer trips the backpack space can pose an issue as you won’t be able to store all the materials that you find. A backpack extension will open up some space for players to store more of their gathered resources.
How to expand your inventory with backpack extensions in Enshrouded
Expanding your backpack inventory in Enshrouded is essential for carrying more resources and loot during your expeditions. Luckily, backpack extensions offer a way to increase your storage capacity. Here is how you can increase your storage via a Backpack extension in Enshrouded:
Unlock the Hunter
Find the Ancient Vault – Hunter located northeast of the Cinder Vault and east of the Ancient Spire – Springlands Fast Travel point. Complete the “Hunter Becomes The Hunted” quest to awaken her. This will allow you to access her crafting services.
Gather Materials
You’ll need three types of materials to craft a backpack extension:
- Torn Cloth:
- Dropped by Fell enemies found in the dangerous Shroud areas. Be cautious and well-prepared.
- Dried Fur:
- Craft a Drying Rack with the Hunter (10 Wood Logs + 6 String).
- Obtain Animal Fur from hunting animals.
- Collect Salt from the Egerton Salt Mines west-northwest of the Springlands Fast Travel point. Look for the cube-shaped deposits on rock walls.
- Combine 1 Animal Fur + 3 Salt in the Drying Rack to make Dried Fur.
- String:
- Easily gathered from various sources.
Craft the Backpack Extension
Speak to the Hunter and choose the “Craft” option. The Small Backpack recipe should be available, requiring 3 Torn Cloth, 4 Dried Fur, and 5 String. Craft the Small Backpack to gain 8 additional inventory slots.
Equip the Backpack Extension
To equip the Backpack Extension open the Character menu. Locate the third slot down on the left, designated for backpack extensions. Select your newly crafted Small Backpack to equip it.
Optional Upgrades
- The Hunter offers further backpack upgrades later: Medium (16 slots) and Large (24 slots).
- These require more advanced materials like Linen and Leather.
