To open the Watery lighthouse stash box with the symbols, you will have to look around the immediate environment. Once you do, you will notice that there are a host of symbols with yellow paint around them. There are more than three, so you will need to pick out which ones are relevant and which ones are red herrings.
The ones with circle of yellow paint have no sort of way to tell players the order, so those are irrelevant. The ones with the vertical marks are the key symbols to pay attention to. The first one you will likely see is the one with three marks just to the right of the actual box. The second one has two yellow lines and is a bit top the right of the last mark. The last one is on the ledge below you and just has one yellow line with it and is also to the right of the previous mark.
The symbol with one line is the first answer, the symbol with the two lines is the second part of the code, and the one with three lines is the final symbol. The first symbol at the top is the two downward-facing triangles stacked on top of each other, the middle one has to the two triangles stacked on top of each other that are pointing up, and the final symbol is the two downward-facing triangles that are side by side, as shown by the above picture.
