Alan Wake 2 Caldera St. Station Entrance: How to Get the Subway Light Charges

The Alan Wake 2 Caldera St. Station Subway entrance is not as straightforward as just going down some flight of stairs. Instead, it takes some Dark Place trickery to enter. Here is how to get into the Caldera St. Station Subway in Alan Wake 2.

How to get into the Caldera St. Subway in Alan Wake 2

To get into the Caldera St. Station Subway in Alan Wake 2, you will first have to find the light for your supernatural lamp. This light is not too close to the subway station itself, so you’ll have to do some searching around.

The station is on the east side of the map (the actual map is right by the phone booth you answer just before getting this mission right near the talk show studio). However, the place to get the light is on the west side of the map directly across from the station. It is simply labeled as an alley on the map.

Go down that path and you will see some neon lights subtly pointing you in the right direction. There will even a big sign that says “Neighborhood Illumination” with a giant arrow. Alan will also remark about the light at the end of the alleyway when you get close. Go down the stairs just near the neon arrow near by the Alex Casey posters.

Traverse the alley, watch the cutscene, and then suck the light out when prompted. Go back to the subway station and transfer the light from your lamp into the subway that opens up the stairway going up, as shown in the above picture. While the stairway going down is the ultimate objective, you’re going to need another light.

Use the light on the stairway going up to the train and follow the path until you eventually get to a taxi, as shown in the above picture. Suck the light out of that to turn it into a cop car and then go back to the subway station. Put the light into the opposite side (the stairway going down) and then put the second light from the taxi into the other light source in the subway station.
