The Return to Moria Steam release date is something many The Lord of the Rings fans are understandably wondering about. This LOTR dwarven survival game is currently an Epic Games Store exclusive, but given that one of the main features of the game is its eight-player co-operative multiplayer, it would make sense that publisher North Beach Games would want to open the game to the large userbase on Steam eventually. What is the Return to Moria Steam release date?
There is no official Steam release date for Return to Moria from developer Free Range Games, but we expect that a reasonable Steam release would be anywhere from April 2024 to October 2024.
Most exclusives for Epic Games Store last about six months to a year. That said, April 2024 would be a surprise release date for the game on Steam given that the roadmap is quite tight. The Xbox port is releasing in early 2024, along with crossplay, so the developer may be too busy working on these bullet points before thinking about Steam.
The developers have given interviews on the game before its release on EGS and none of them have mentioned a Steam release. Looking through the official support page for Return to Moria via North Beach Games, there’s only a FAQ on the game’s release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with no mention of Steam.
At the time of writing, the game uses peer-to-peer networking for multiplayer with players needing to use invite codes. But the team is looking into other multiplayer options like dedicated servers in the roadmap for the game.
