Mortal Kombat 1 Babalities: Are There Babality Finishers in MK1?

Mortal Kombat 1 Babalities would let players turn the opponents into little babies instead of piles of goop and viscera. These unique finishers have been in a few past Mortal Kombat games, but the team has always tried to mix it up with each release. Here’s whether or not Mortal Kombat 1 has Babalities.

Does Mortal Kombat 1 have Babalities?

It does not seem as though Mortal Kombat 1 has Babalities. Nothing in the game suggests that these finishing moves are in the game. It’s always possible that they are very hidden, as these always require some collection of obscure button inputs or have players meet certain criteria during the match. We have reached out to Warner Bros. for confirmation.

However, this does not mean that Babalities are never coming to Mortal Kombat 1. NetherRealm Studio has patched whole finishing move types into past Mortal Kombat games. It added stage Fatalities in Mortal Kombat X and Friendships into Mortal Kombat 11. It is likely that the studio will have some update in the future that implements a whole new type of finishing move.

More Mortal Kombat 1

Series co-creator Ed Boon spoke about other types of finishing moves in regards to Mortal Kombat 1 during a panel before the game’s launch.

“Over the years, Babalities, Friendships, Animalities, all of these kinds of things, with me personally, I like to cover the ones we haven’t done recently, so there’s a little bit of a spoiler in there, there’s certainly a chance we’re going to bring them back, for sure,” said Boon.

Given how he said he wanted to cover ones that haven’t recently been in the series, it’s possible that Babalities will be in the game since they were last in 2011’s Mortal Kombat. But Animalities haven’t been in a Mortal Kombat game for even longer, though, as they were last in 1996’s Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

MK1 Babality FAQ

Q: Are Babalities included in Mortal Kombat 1?

A: Currently, there’s no indication that Mortal Kombat 1 features Babalities. They might be deeply hidden given their historically obscure activation criteria, but as of now, there’s no evidence they exist in the game.

Q: Could Babalities be introduced to Mortal Kombat 1 in the future?

A: Yes, it’s possible. NetherRealm Studio has a history of adding new finishing moves to Mortal Kombat games post-launch, as seen with stage Fatalities in Mortal Kombat X and Friendships in Mortal Kombat 11. Given Ed Boon’s remarks about revisiting finishers not recently used, there’s a chance Babalities could be added in a future update.

Q: When were Babalities last seen in the Mortal Kombat series?

A: Babalities were last featured in 2011’s Mortal Kombat. It’s worth noting that Animalities, another type of finishing move, haven’t been seen since 1996’s Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
