The Baldur’s Gate 3 suspicious sounds marker on the Moonrise Towers map may be confusing. As you explore the main area of the towers in Act 2, you might overhear an ogre named Mig complaining that there are weird sounds coming behind the wall. A yellow circle will appear on the map that implores you to comb the scene for clues. If you investigate the mess hall, you’ll see a strange red web coming out of a door to what looks like a spiral staircase. That won’t make the circle disappear, though. Here’s how to investigate the suspicious sounds in the Moonrise Towers in BG3.
Where is the Baldur’s Gate 3 suspicious sounds location?
The suspicious sounds are coming from a crack in the wall above the strange red web in the mess hall. To reach this crack, you can follow these directions:
- Head left of the entrance to the mess hall. You’ll see a group of three goblins arguing amongst each other.
- Next to the goblins is a ladder than you can use to reach the rafters, which are just a bunch of nearly broken wooden planks.
- Around the corner, you’ll see the crack in the wall next to a wooden platform
- Use a spell like Fly or Misty Step to reach the platform
- Pass a Perception check to spot the crack properly
- Investigate the crack and prepare for a cutscene
It’s up to you how you wish to proceed at this point. You can choose to reach your hand into the opening if you want, regardless of whether you pass the Arcana check to get a hint of what you’re about to get yourself into.
From there, you can pass a Strength, Dexterity, or Sleight of Hand check to resist whatever is trying to pull you in. That said, if you choose not to resist or fail the check, you’ll get a cutscene that expands upon the lore of what’s happening at the towers. Of course, that may come at the expense of your character’s sanity.
