A Baldur’s Gate 3 Githyanki Barrier Disruptor blocks the way to the Inquisitor in the office of Kith’rak Therezzyn. There are several methods to get past this white and yellow barrier, but it’s not obvious how to do it. Interacting with the disruptor machine tells you that you need to insert something inside of it. Indeed, you can find the item you need to disable the door within the room, but there’s actually one other way to get past it. Here’s how to activate the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor in BG3.
How to get past Baldur’s Gate 3 Githyanki Barrier Disruptor
There are three ways to disable the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor:
- Successful dialogue options with Kith’rak Therezzyn – In your conversion with Kith’rak, offer to help find the weapon she’s looking for. This will lead to another option where you can persuade her to let you see the Inquisitor with the information you have about the artifact. Upon a successful check, Kith’rak herself will offer to deactivate the barrier and let you pass through.
- Pickpocket Kith’rak – If you manage to get through the conversation with Kith’rak with a stalemate, you can steal the Gith Shard key item from her. You’ll likely need to pass a Persuasion or Deception check, though, to convince her that you’re not the culprits.
- Kill Kith’rak – Of course, the conversation can turn hostile, forcing you to attack Kith’rak and her soldiers instead. You can loot the Gith Shard from her body after the battle.
Once you have the Gith Shard, you need to drag and drop the item into the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor. This is because clicking on the item in the inventory will only bring up a pop-up message saying that you “Can’t use this right now.” We believe this is actually a bug that we hope is fixed in a future hotfix or patch from Larian Studios.
