The Remnant 2 Hardened Iron upgrade material is a necessary ingredient for improving weapons to their final grade. But Hardened Iron can be difficult or rather confusing to find, even after players beat the game and raise the difficulty. This high-grade iron is described in the game as a remarkable material that is impressive for its durability despite it being lightweight, which is why it’s required for high-tier weapons. You’ll need plenty of it for Don “Rigs” Rigler to enhance your blades and guns to their final form. Here’s how to get Hardened Iron in Remnant 2.
How to get Remnant 2 Hardened Iron
Here are several ways that you can obtain Hardened Iron in Remnant 2:
- Purchase from Cass – Cass is one of many merchants in Ward 13. You can purchase Hardened Iron from this vendor for 300 scraps. That’s quite a lot of scrap to spend, so we recommend using this as a last resort if you can’t find this iron anywhere else.
- Play adventure mode on harder difficulties – Make sure that your overall power level is at least 16. Otherwise, the chances of Hardened Iron dropping from enemies will be rather low. So long as you’re at least that level, defeating bosses and corrupted enemies will drop Hardened Iron rather frequently.
If you find that Hardened Iron still isn’t dropping from enemies, you may need to do one of two things. Either head to a friend world’s where the friend is sufficiently high enough level, or reroll your campaign so that every world resets, allowing new material to spawn.
For those who prefer just buying Hardened Iron from Cass, we recommend farming Corrupted Lumenite Crystals in the Labyrinth as you will earn a good amount of Scrap on the side. And you’ll need these crystals anyway to upgrade your mutators. Here’s also how to farm Crimson King Coins while exploring the Gilded Chambers.
