Diablo 4 Hotfix July 21 Details

Diablo 4 Hotfix for Today, July 21: Release Time & Details [Update]

A Diablo 4 hotfix is scheduled to release today, July 21. The Blizzard developers on the Campfire Chat that aired earlier the same day on 11 am PT / 2pm ET confirmed that this quick update is on the way. They also shared some details on the release time as well as what to expect from the hotfix. While the developers will not be rolling back the controversial nerfs from the recent patch, they will be making corrections to it, starting with this hotfix.

What is the Diablo 4 hotfix release time for July 21?

[UPDATE: This timing has been slightly delayed to “later this evening” according to an official post on the Diablo 4 forums. The original article follows.] The Diablo 4 hotfix release time will be “sometime this afternoon” according to Adam Fletcher, otherwise known as PezRadar, from the July 21 Campfire Chat.

Unfortunately, the developers weren’t more specific than that, but this likely means that the hotfix will arrive sometime before 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET. So you won’t need to wait very long before you’ll need to update Diablo 4 to the latest version.

What will be in the Diablo 4 hotfix patch notes for July 21?

The Diablo 4 hotfix will reportedly address the difficulty of high-level Nightmare Dungeons.

Specifically, as mentioned earlier in the Fireside Chat livestream, Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora stated that they wanted to address the difficulty level of Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeons. They essentially want to adjust the current difficulty for them to be in line with what Tier 70 Nightmare Dungeons are like now. [For Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeons, enemy HP has been reduced by 82% and Damage reduced by 79%.] This will retroactively change how hard all of the high-tier Nightmare Dungeons will be, which should flatten the difficulty curve of these dungeons to match the general nerfs presented in Patch 1.1.0.

The Blizzard developers also mentioned that will eventually be increasing the mob density for Nightmare Dungeons. These changes will be coming in the next “couple of weeks” when Patch 1.1.1 is expected to drop and will be addressed in the Campfire Chat set for July 28.

The developers also said that they will be making changes to how crowd control works for when they increase mob density for these dungeons. This means making crowd control easier for players to apply on enemies and making it less frequent for players to be crowd controlled just once and die almost immediately as a result.
