Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Diamond Locations How to Farm

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Diamond Locations: Where to Find Diamonds and Farm Them

There are various Diamond locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These valuable stones are relatively rare drops, but you’ll slowly accrue them throughout your playthrough. These items are valuable for a few reasons. Obviously, you can sell them for a hefty sum of rupees, but they also give a big boost to attacks if you fuse them to a weapon, and they’re used to upgrade some of the higher-end armor sets at the Great Fairy Fountains. Given their utility, you’ll want to learn how to farm Diamonds in Tears of the Kingdom at some point.

Locations to find Diamonds in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You can find Diamonds in the following locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom:

  • Goron City Ore Seller
  • Ore Deposits
  • Talus Drops
  • Treasure Chests

Goron City Ore Seller

There’s a shop in Goron City that sells ores. Sometimes, he’ll have Diamonds for sale at 1,000 rupees each. This method is the least efficient and most expensive way to get Diamonds in Tears of the Kingdom, but it’s convenient in a pinch.

Ore Deposits

Mining ore deposits is one of two farmable methods of getting Diamonds. This is because they, along with other precious stones, have a chance of dropping from rare ore deposits (the ones that sparkle). However, Diamonds have a low drop rate, and it takes a while for ore deposits to respawn, so trying to farm them can be frustrating.

Talus Drops

A Talus will sometimes drop a Diamond after being defeated. The chances are pretty low, but it’s a pleasant surprise if it happens.

Treasure Chests

Several treasure chests in the game contain Diamonds. Most of them are located in shrines that don’t have puzzles, dubbed Rauru’s Blessing. These are great if you just need one or two Diamonds, but they don’t respawn.

Best way to farm Diamonds in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Dondon Location

The best way to farm Diamonds in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is to use the Dondons. These creatures live in a sanctuary across from Lakeside Stable in Akkala. Place a Luminous Stone in front of each Dondon and then leave the area for 5-10 minutes. When you return, you’ll find that the creatures have “processed” the stones into gems. Like with other methods, Diamonds are rare drops here, but at least you can consistently get the chance for them to drop,

To increase your chances for success in farming Diamonds, mark down where you find rare ore deposits. Then, when you’re waiting for the Dondons, you can check and see if the deposits have respawned. Then, you can go back and forth between the two sources until you finally have enough Diamonds to sate your thirst for the drip.
