Atomic Heart‘s performance on PC is concerning some players, with there being some issues that include frame rate stuttering/lagging, or FPS drops in general. As such, players are wondering how to improve performance on the platforms, and if there’s a way to increase FPS. Here’s what you need to know.
How to fix Atomic Heart PC performance issues
If Atomic Heart is stuttering for you or you’re experiencing frame drops, there are fixes that can help improve its performance.
- Go to ‘Settings’ and ‘Display’
- Next to ‘Hard Drive Speed,’ select either ‘HDD’ or ‘SSD’ depending on where Atomic Heart is installed
- Enable ‘DLSS Super Resolution’ if you have an NVidia GPU and select ‘Quality’ mode
The above is a good fix to make changes that will improve the frame rate without there being a noticeable impact on the game’s visuals. DLSS Super Resolution outputs higher-resolution frames from a lower-resolution input, maximizing performance while also keeping things looking clean and smooth. Additionally, by selecting your correct hard drive speed, this will ensure that Atomic Heart won’t run as though you have it installed on a faster SSD if you actually have it installed on a HDD.
Alternatively, if none of the above work, you’ll need to lower your graphics present or make sure you have the latest drivers for your GPU installed. You can check out if you have the correct drivers for NVidia here and AMD here.
