Atomic Heart Expand Inventory

Atomic Heart: How to Increase Inventory Space

You can upgrade your inventory space in Atomic Heart through by using Neuropolymer. Unfortunately, you don’t start the game with much room, which can lead to frustration. However, you can quickly unlock more inventory slots within the first few hours of playing if you prioritize them.

How to get more inventory slots in Atomic Heart

Atomic Heart Inventory Upgrade Tree

You can get more inventory slots in Atomic Heart by unlocking the Neuro-Compression Tactical Backpack upgrades. You can find these by heading to a NORA locker and looking under the Character upgrades. You’ll find them circled in the screenshot above.

The Neuro-Compression Tactical Backpack upgrades are described in-game as:

“Increases your backpack’s capacity through compression rate upgrades.”

You should make getting both inventory upgrades a priority. The 20 slots you get by default fill up quickly, and if you have 3-4 weapons and ammo, there’s not much space left over for health packs and other items. Each backpack gives you ten more slots, so you can potentially double the size of your inventory.

Fortunately, it doesn’t take too long to make it through the Character upgrade tree and reach the backpacks. Having 40 slots makes inventory management much easier, and you can keep enough health packs and ammo on you that few enemies can challenge you one-on-one.
