Minecraft Microsoft Server Error Fix

Minecraft ‘You Need To Authenticate to Microsoft Services’ Fix for PC (2023)

The Minecraft error with the “You Need to Authenticate to Microsoft Services” pop-up message luckily has a fix on PC. Here are some solutions you can try to fix this problem in 2023.

How to fix Minecraft “You Need to Authenticate to Microsoft Services” error

To get rid of the “You Need to Authenticate to Microsoft Services” error, there are some fixes that you can attempt, with the easier solutions at the top of the list below:

  1. Reload the game and your computer.
    • If this is the first time you’ve seen this error, restarting the game or your PC can fix this problem.
  2. Sign out and sign back in.
    • From the Settings menu under Profile, you can select the Sign Out of Your Microsoft account option. Click that and sign back in to see if that solves the issue.
  3. Wait for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
    • Sometimes, your Microsoft account can’t connect to Minecraft because of a brief interruption. We recommend waiting at least half an hour before trying to play Minecraft again.
  4. Adjust time settings.
    • In rare cases, this problem stems from your PC’s time settings not being in sync with Minecraft’s servers. Head to the Settings apps, go to Time & Language on the left-hand side, then Date & Time, and toggle on “Set time zone automatically.”

This issue has occurred these last two years, and 2023 is no exception, ever since Microsoft decided to force Minecraft players to register for a Microsoft account before they could play the game in 2021. If you see this message on your screen, it usually means that your Microsoft account is having trouble accessing the Minecraft servers.
