Hogwarts Legacy: Do You Age and Get Older?

You don’t age in Hogwarts Legacy. Unfortunately, you don’t get to watch your character get older since the game only takes place over the course of a year. Those who hoped to go through all seven years of Hogwarts unfortunately only got a fraction of the experience.

Do you get older in Hogwarts Legacy?

You get older by about a year in Hogwarts Legacy, but you don’t noticeably age. Your experience with the world of Harry Potter is abridged compared to the books and movies, as your character is already a fifth year when the game begins.

We don’t know exactly how much time passes in Hogwarts Legacy, but we can estimate that it takes roughly one school year. When the game begins, you arrive just in time to take part in the sorting ceremony, which happens as soon as students arrive. By the end of the game, you’ll be preparing for your O.W.L. exams which occur just before summer vacation for fifth-year students.

Unfortunately, we don’t get a long-term experience with our character. Many fans hoped they’d get to start the game as first years and play through to graduation. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, but who knows what might happen in the sequel. The game sold very well, so a Hogwarts Legacy 2 is likely.
