With many having now beaten the game, folks are beginning to ask questions about a Hogwarts Legacy 2 release date. “Will there be a Hogwarts Legacy sequel?” some are asking. Given the success of the game’s launch, it’s easy to imagine a follow-up to Hogwarts Legacy that features new characters like Albus Dumbledore, Grindelwald, and maybe even Voldemort and Harry Potter.
Is there a Hogwarts Legacy 2 release date?
At the time of writing, there is no Hogwarts Legacy 2 release date.
Developer Avalanche Software has only just launched the first game and has yet to mention any plans for a potential sequel. The team is no doubt focused entirely on the release and rolling out patches to help polish issues uncovered during the launch.
However, given the presumed success of the game, as everyone appears to be talking about it, it’s easy to imagine Hogwarts Legacy 2 being greenlit soon and for the brainstorming of a sequel to begin.
While Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the 1800s, future games could explore Hogwarts at any point in time. Perhaps it will move forward to when Albus Dumbledore was at school and making friends with Gellert Grindelwald? Or maybe it will leap ahead to the 1990s, when Harry Potter started at school? Hopefully we’ll learn more about a future game soon.
