With over 175 million users (as of April 29, 2021), it is inevitable that some may be asking whether or not they should stick around with the platform. Here is what you should consider if you want to cancel Amazon Prime Video in August 2022.
Is Amazon Prime Video worth it in 2022 or should I cancel?
Following on from The Boys season 3 was going to be a tough task for Amazon Prime Video, but they did drop the TV adaptation of 1992 movie, A League of Their Own, on August 12. New film Thirteen Lives from director Ron Howard, is also making waves, receiving praise and critical acclaim following its August 5 debut. Then there’s Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming superhero feature Samaritan, which will drop on August 26. The month has a lot to offer, seemingly delivering a dose of content that should have everybody excited.
Lord of the Rings fans may also want to think twice about ending their Amazon Prime Video membership, as The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power will start airing weekly episodes just after August comes to a close, on September 2.
With plenty of reasons to keep your Amazon Prime Video subscription going, it may be tough to go through with canceling. Your personal taste could see you better off moving to one of the many other streaming services available, however. Prime Video standalone membership is $8.99 a month, or you can enjoy the subscription alongside your regular Amazon Prime membership for $14.99 a month, or $139 a year. There are sadly no current options to pay an annual fee for standalone Prime Video membership.
How to cancel Amazon Prime Video in 2022?
Amazon Prime Video subscribers are able to cancel their membership at any time, with the option to return at a later date. To cancel, users will want to:
- Login to your Amazon Prime Video account.
- Go to “Account & Settings”, then select the “Your Account” button.
- If you are on a Prime Video subscription, simply select “End Subscription”.
- If you want to cancel your Amazon Prime membership entirely, click “Prime Membership” and then select “Edit”.
Note: Additional subscriptions that are tied to your membership will not renew once your Amazon Prime membership ends.
