The Boys Gen V release date window

The Boys Gen V Release Date Window on Amazon Prime Video

Fans are hoping to see a The Boys Gen V release date soon to tide them over while they’re waiting for season four. While we’ve known about the series for a while under its previous name, The Boys Presents: Varsity, we only knew the basic premise until recently. As production ramps up, we’re getting more info, including hints about when Gen V might release.

What’s the Gen V Season 1 release date?

The Gen V release date will be sometime in 2023, according to a Deadline interview with Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studios Vernon Sanders. In fact, Sanders said that he was so excited about the premise that he asked The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke to finish it two years earlier than his original estimate.

In Gen V, we’ll see a group of young supes be tested in The Hunger Games-esque challenges at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. The school is run by Voight International, which uses it as a way to scout future talent. The better a supe does in the competitions, the better the chance of them earning a spot on a coveted team.

So far, we know the names behind the main cast, but the roles are yet to be revealed for more of them:

Main Cast

  • Asa Germann
  • Chance Perdomo
  • Derek Luh
  • Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau
  • Lizze Broadway as Emma Shaw
  • London Thor
  • Maddie Phillips
  • Shelley Conn

Recurring

  • Marco Pigossi as Doctor Edison Cardosa
  • Patrick Schwarzenegger as Golden Boy
  • Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity

Filming began on the series in May 2022 and is predicted to wrap in October 2022. That puts it on track to enter post-production in the last quarter of the year and ramp up to a 2023 release. Hopefully, everything stays on schedule so we can see what The Boys universe has in store for us next.
