The Boys Spin-Off Gen V

The Boys Spin-Off Stars Jaz Sinclair and Chance Perdomo Reveal Gen V Name

We’ve long known The Boys would be getting a spin-off tentatively titled The Boys Presents: Varsity, but now several of the show’s stars, including Jaz Sinclair and Chance Perdomo, have revealed the series’ actual name: Gen V. Amazon Prime describes the series as an “irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test.”

The Boys Presents: Varsity Gets a Proper Name

The name was revealed in a new trailer featuring the majority of the show’s cast: Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, London Thor, Asa Germann, Maddie Phillips, and Derek Luh. Gen V also features Shelley Conn, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi, although they didn’t feature in the trailer. While we have no more clues as to any of the stars’ characters, they did describe the show as having “everything The Boys has: the intensity, the grit, the humor.” It “will be a rollercoaster” and “it’s gonna be filled with blood, guts, and everything else.”As could probably be expected from a college superheroes drama, there’s “love and relationships”, “lots of hormones, and drama, and mystery,” and “tons of action.” If you enjoy The Boys, you’ll be glad to know Gen V is also “f***ed up” and “you’re gonna like it”.

The Gen V spin-off will feature crossover storylines with Season 3 of The Boys. The background presidential campaign and Soldier Boy will carry over into Gen V, while certain events at the Vought International’s Godolkin University School of Crimefighting will be as a result of the events of The Boys Season 3. Those events will then influence the storylines in Season 4 of The Boys, which was recently confirmed but has no official release date.

In other entertainment news, there are potentially already spoilers for Black Panther 2 in the wild. Elsewhere, Black Panther’s Chadwick Boseman gets a posthumous Emmy nomination for his role in Marvel’s What If…?
