Ever since its initial launch in November 2019, streaming service Disney Plus has been entertaining millions of users across the globe. Over 10 million people had registered for an account by the end of the platform’s first day of operation, and now the service has 137.7 million global subscribers (as of April 2022). However, with the rising cost of living, some people are thinking about whether or not to cancel Disney Plus altogether.
Is Disney Plus worth it in 2022 or should I cancel?
As is usually the case, the answer lies with your personal taste. If you want to remain up-to-date with the latest MCU releases, then you’ll probably be keen to stick around on Disney Plus for the weekly releases of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law through August and beyond. If you don’t mind waiting for the season to wrap up however, you could cancel now and then restart your subscription once the final episode has broadcast, allowing you to binge the whole thing at your own pace.
Star Wars fans have Season 2 of The Bad Batch to look forward to in September, premiering just over a week after new series Andor makes its debut. Both are highly anticipated, with the latter serving as a prequel to the Star Wars spin-off movie Rogue One.
The long-awaited Hocus Pocus sequel also drops ahead of Halloween on September 30, as well as Disenchanted, the sequel to 2007 film Enchanted, and Willow Season 1 starring Warwick Davis, in November.
There’s a lot to suggest keeping your Disney Plus subscription going, but with so many other streaming platforms out there, it may be time to take a break. If you’re paying $7.99 monthly and can afford taking the $79.99 hit for an annual subscription, this could also be a smart choice. There’s no telling whether or not Disney will decide to hike their subscription prices again in the near future.
How to cancel Disney Plus in 2022?
Disney Plus subscribers are able to cancel their membership at any time while keeping their account so that they have the choice to return at a later date.
If you pay Disney Plus directly for your subscription, you simply log in to your account, before selecting your profile and moving to the Account page. There, you can choose your Disney Plus subscription under the Subscription section, before clicking on Cancel Subscription.
