GTA 6 Crypto: Will It Have Bitcoin Cryptocurrency Rewards?

GTA 6 crypto rewards are among the most talked-about features rumored to be coming to the next Grand Theft Auto experience. Over the past decade, discussions surrounding cryptocurrencies, the blockchain, and, most recently, Web3 have dominated the tech world and been the cause of much controversy. And now, according to the latest rumors, one of the largest gaming franchises in the world, GTA, will be implementing crypto into its online reward system. Here’s the need-to-know info on GTA 6 crypto.

Will GTA 6 have cryptocurrency rewards?

There’s no official confirmation that GTA 6 will have cryptocurrency rewards.

One line of thinking is that GTA 6 will have “Crypto” as the name of its in-game currency name. It won’t actually be a real cryptocurrency. Given the franchise’s habit of parodying modern life and the huge role that technology now plays, this would make a lot of sense.

However, others think that GTA 6 will be tapping into the real-world blockchain, with real Cryptocurrency waiting to be earned by players.

Will GTA 6 Online be play-to-earn?

Rockstar Games has neither confirmed nor denied that GTA 6 Online will be play-to-earn.

Play-to-earn games, where users can generate real-world crypto by playing them, have grown in popularity in recent years. GTA 6 could well be tapping into the potential profits there with its Online component. However, there has been no official comment on this.

Again, it’s more likely that, if cryptocurrency does make an appearance in GTA 6, it will be part of a joke and parodied. Of course, nothing is yet known at this time, which makes it perfectly possible that Rockstar could fully lean into real crypto as part of its game.

In other gaming news, the “Steam Deck SSD Mod” has been deemed unsafe according to the console’s designer. Hogwarts Legacy’s Special Edition content has been leaked by the game’s own website. Halo: The Master Chief Collection may get microtransactions and fans aren’t happy.
